People have many questions when visiting a new reiki giver.* Find some of the most common questions people have below. If something is still unclear, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

A note about why I call myself a reiki giver: reiki is a shared experience. The person giving reiki receives energy and relaxation from the person receiving it. Because this can be a mutual healing relationship, I like to think of myself as the reiki giver and of you as the reiki receiver.
Do you help treat terminal or chronic illness?
I am not a doctor or a clinician of any kind. You should seek medical care for any medical problems you have. Reiki is a complementary healing modality that can help you handle stress and relax during difficult times.
How should I prepare for my first treatment?
Wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to relax! Some people fall asleep during their reiki sessions, which is a sign of relaxation. If you are receiving reiki from a distance, find a quiet, comfortable place for the duration of your session. You may want to make yourself comfortable on a bed, a few yoga mats, or a couch.
What should I expect from my first session?
Reiki reaches everyone differently. Some people find that they have a release of some kind during their sessions; people may laugh or cry, fall asleep or have a vivid insight, or none of these things. You should expect that your reiki giver will ask you questions, keep your comfort as the very first priority, and respect your wishes.
